I think I might use this mostly to do one big weekly post about what's happened in my week- awesome things, unpleasant things, accomplishments, etcetera. I might make little posts with pictures, books, and so on. But the goal is to write one big entry a week. I think I might do mine on Wednesdays- today is Wednesday, it's a nice day, and it gives me something to do midweek.
Well, since last Wednesday, some pretty good stuff has happened. Lily, one of my new ball-jointed dolls, got a new dress in the mail. It's very pretty! I wish I had the money to get one made for myself. Aidan, my other doll, is waiting for his new outfit. They shall be covered in ruffles and lace together! XD I'm going out to lunch today with my boss to celebrate her retirement. I'm going to miss her, she's one of the nicest people I've ever worked for. I've been getting a lot of free lunches this week- Jan, who I've worked with on some art history related stuff (and I was the student curator for her Paul Swan exhibition last year), took me out to lunch on Monday. Nothing like free food. ^_^;;;
I've been really good at keeping up with my classwork lately. I've been going to library hours for Gamma Sig like I'm supposed to, and it's really helping me keep up with things. I should have done it more last semester... I probably would have been able to stay in all my classes and not fall so far behind. I think what will help me the most this semester is keeping up on my work, making sure everything's done ahead of time and relying on my professors and friends for help if I need it. I've just got to stay up on top of everything. I know I can do it. :) I'm taking very interesting classes, and having fun with them all- even Issues in Contemporary Art, which I'm not too fond of. I like the textbook, and my speech project is going to be fun to work on, but the lectures I could live without, I think. Digital Design is so much fun- we just started making business cards today. Latin is a class that I'm surprised at how well I'm doing in it. Art and Archaeology of the Classical World is very interesting too- I know a lot about the art history of Classical Greece and Rome, but I'm learning lots more with this class.
I need to start working out again. I gained 2 pounds since the beginning of the month, and I've been eating so much crap that's not healthy for me... I need to go back to Jazzercise (which I'm doing tonight) and I need to keep track of my calories and my food on SparkPeople (www.sparkpeople.com, for anyone who's interested), and I need to get rid of the junk food. The Kashi veggie crackers can stay, but the Kudos bars probably have to go. I want to be able to fit into all my frilly ruffly clothes and be comfortable in them. I want to dress up as Julia to Byan's Spike and actually look slim, not chunky. I want to wear cute clothes.
I need new bras. XD I think when I get paid next week, I might go to Wal-Mart and see what they have for Industrial Strength Bras, or go shopping online and see if the mythical cute bra exists in my size. We'll see.
I shall update you more, my poor little journal. Maybe I'll cross-post my LJ entries here, so that way if I ever get more people reading this, they can read what's going on.
Hi, Allison! XD
Ah crap. It's 8 am. I should go brush my teeth and get dressed- I have to leave for campus in a half hour or so. I will update this again when I'm at work.
I also listen to Les Miserables a lot at work, simply because sometimes it's nice to listen to a story at work. And what a beautiful story it is...
Bethie's Bedtime Reading:
I will finish this book eventually. It's very good, but it's taking me forever to get through, simply because I don't have much time for books lately... Oddly enough, this is the first non-Anne Rice book I've read since last October. Damn those Vampire Chronicles for being so addicting.
So, here I am on Vox. I've been wanting to test it out for a while, but today is the first time I've had to sit, think about the internet for a little while, and decide to try something new that I most likely won't end up dismissing in a few weeks because it lacks entertainment value. (Yes, everything must be entertaining in the world of the Purple Paradox, because otherwise life gets boring.) So, here I am.
This is boss, woman! How cute is that...a part of me is fascinated with dolls, but another part of me... read more
